Brembo, the global leader in braking solutions, inaugurated its first Brembo Inspiration Lab in Asia, located in Shanghai. The Brembo Inspiration Lab will focus on advancing the company’s capabilities in software development, artificial intelligence applications and data science, marking another significant step in Brembo’s transformation from a component manufacturer to a solutions provider.

The new Brembo Inspiration Lab is an integral part of Brembo’s global innovation network, joining the Group’s Silicon Valley Inspiration Lab and ten R&D centers around the world. As Brembo’s center of excellence in China, the Brembo Inspiration Lab in Shanghai will foster collaborations with leading universities, innovative startups and key industry partners to drive pioneering solutions that will enhance competitiveness for the Group’s customers in the global market.
For its first Brembo Inspiration Lab in Asia, the Group chose to invest in Shanghai, China’s major business and economic center. The Brembo Inspiration Lab is located inside the modern Wheelock Square skyscraper in the Jing’an district, a prime location with a dynamic blend of business and culture that makes it one of Shanghai’s most influential areas.
With the Brembo Inspiration Lab in Shanghai, the Group expands its global presence and continues to grow in China. Brembo established its first production base in Nanjing in 2001 and today has five production sites, one trading company and one R&D center – that was recently expanded – in the cities of Nanjing, Shanghai, Langfang, Jiaxing, Qingdao and Jinan. China is a key market for Brembo, representing alone more than 15% of the Group’s annual revenue. Brembo’s business in China grew in 2024 by 7.7% compared to 2023.
