Eindhoven, July 2015 – Advantech’s new ADAM-5560CDS, is a cost efficient modular IPC controller based on CODESYS V3 embedded engineering platform equipped with an Intel Atom D510 CPU including controller specific features such as a watch dog, RAM with battery back-up and pre-installed with the real time embedded OS WIN CE6.0. The basic unit provides space for 7 internal I/O slots (for digital and analog I/O) which can totally support applications up to 224 I/O points. Two on board Ethernet ports (2xRJ45) allow the connectivity to multiple network architectures and remote I/O components.
Morgan Advanced Materials announces the availability of brazed assemblies for medical imaging applications using ceramic insulators. Assemblies are manufactured with proprietary grades of high purity alumina ceramic with superior electrical and dimensional stability across a wide temperature range. Morgan’s ceramic-to-metal assemblies for imaging components include high voltage insulators for CT scanning equipment, anodes and cathodes, filament insulators, getters and headers, as well as ceramic components used in vacuum tubes for x-ray equipment. Morgan’s materials and manufacturing process result in better seals with maximum hermeticity for high performance and extended life cycle. Advanced ceramics also allow higher voltages, which result in higher power and improved image resolution.
Delta Electronics, a leading global company in power management solutions, has just received a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2015 for Golden Eagle, a 600W 48VDC power supply for telecom applications. The elegant exterior of Golden Eagle contains best-in-class energy-efficient features setting a new benchmark for power management throughout the industry. As stated by the Jury, “This power supply unit captivates with its self-contained design. Its exceptionally small and flat form allows it to fit almost anywhere.”
Helping facilitate high speed train travel in Japan, NSK says that its high performance axle, motor and drive unit bearings have been selected for a prestigious new rail project. The bearings have been specified for the H5 rolling stock to be deployed on the Hokkaido Shinkansen high speed rail line being constructed between Shin-Aomori and Sapporo – the initial section of which opened in March 2016.
Within the global gaming equipment sector, reducing instances of theft and fraud while maintaining compliance with changing industry requirements are key concerns. Given the high traffic environments that gaming machines are often exposed to, integrating the appropriate security controls is crucial to loss prevention. As a result, gaming equipment manufacturers are increasing their design focus on physical security solutions.
Anyone who uses conveyor systems in their working environment knows that incorrect measurements must be avoided, otherwise the machines and belts could be so badly damaged that production comes to a complete stop. Dedicated to harsh environment, the Bulkscan® LMS511accurately measures mass and volume flow continuously in a non-contact process and also identifies the fill level and the center of gravity of bulk materials on belts.
Just months after winning Airbus' Top Supplier Award, Esterline Connection Technologies – Souriau was chosen by Labinal Power Systems from among 450 suppliers as the recipient of its 2014 Best Overall Performance Award.
