KOLLMORGEN

Centralized or Decentralized ? Which architecture type delivers the best technical and commercial advantages ?

Decentralizing servo technology can bring machine and plant construction savings during installation. Two additional advantages include reduced cabinet heat loads and more straight forward drive architecture. The question arises however, which technology is better, an integrated motor/drive solution or a detached motor and drive?

MAYR

High performance in a compact design Backlash-free ROBA®-DS servo couplings with split clamping hubs

The high-performance ROBA®-DS shaft couplings transmit the torque backlash-free and with high torsional rigidity. They compensate for shaft misalignment and are both wear- and maintenance-free. On the sizes up to 150 Newton meters, mayr® power transmission are going to extend its standard hubs for mounting the shafts by a radially divisible hub – for easy and fast installation, even in difficult ambient conditions.

HMS Industrial Networks AB

HMS expands Netbiter Remote Management offering

HMS Industrial Networks now expands the Netbiter Remote Management offering to include three different services catering for different user needs. The dedicated services enable both quick connection to a single remote machine, as well as advanced projects including multiple installations and users. HMS also presents a new Netbiter EasyConnect gateway (EC310) which communicates via Ethernet only.

NORD Drivesystems

Drive dynamics by NORD DRIVESYSTEMS

At the PTC Asia exhibition (27—30 October, 2014, Shanghai) NORD DRIVESYSTEMS (hall E1, booth B1) will present drive solutions for industrial applications in a wide range of sectors. The main exhibit, a working manipulator model achieves maximum dynamics due to decentralized NORD drives. This solution is featured in palletizers manufactured by NORD customer Symach. The drive units combine IE2 energy-saving motors, highly efficient gearboxes, and intelligent motor-mounted frequency inverters from the SK 200E series, all manufactured in-house by NORD. Important additional applications include conveyor technology, pumps, and ventilators.

CONTA-CLIP

CONTA-CLIP fuse disconnect terminal with extraction lever for a spare fuse

FSIK 4-type fuse disconnect terminals from CONTA-CLIP feature a folding extraction lever that locks into its end position and provides space for a spare fuse. Alternatively, CONTA-CLIP also supplies the fuse disconnect terminals with an integrated LED status display. The pressure spring connection system (PushIn) allows fast and safe contacting of the wires. A cross-connection channel within the fuse disconnect terminals allows for potentials to be distributed to adjacent fused terminals from the FSIK series. For multiplying the potentials, CONTA-CLIP offers the FQI standard connection system, available with 2 to 10 poles. Using VBS connection sleeves, two or three extraction levers can be coupled and operated simultaneously. FSIK 4 housings are made from polyamide 6.6 UL 94 V-0.

SUNSYS PCS2: the solution for smart integration of PV energy in electrical grids

Matching intermittent energy sources (solar or wind power) with fluctuating demand is a major obstacle for smart grids. Socomec is facing up to this challenge by offering a system that converts and stores the renewable energy produced and compensates the intermittent nature of the energy source. But this solution offers more than that: SUNSYS PCS² optimizes self-consumption of smart grids, alleviates variances between the energy available and demand and meets islanding requirements.

DATAPAQ

First in-process temperature profiling system for PV anti-reflective coating

Cambridge, UK – Working with suppliers to the solar and photovoltaic (PV) industry, Datapaq has designed the first solution in the market for monitoring the temperature of PV cells throughout the anti-reflective coating process. The SolarPaq system passes through the process chambers along with the products, taking accurate readings even with the plasma activated. This enables operators to optimize the coating process and, hence, cell efficiency. Measuring merely 18 mm in height, with a 146 mm square footprint, the application-tailored logger and thermal protection fit into a standard cell carrier, allowing production to go on without disruption. The VB7400 thermal barrier features a unique reflective plate insulation technology that precludes outgassing in vacuum processes and withstands the harsh thermal and electrical environments within the plasma chamber.

EPLAN

Available now for download: New Eplan Platform 2.4

The new major release of the Eplan Platform is now available. PLC project planning in graphical overviews, sub-projects and new navigation options accelerate project planning, even in large projects. Extended support for IEC 81346 and IEC 61355 through structuring principles and reference designations offers a basis for innovative design methods.

EPLAN

Data exchange with synchronisation of catalogue parts

Teamcenter interface expanded An advanced interface between Eplan and Teamcenter has been launched. The interface includes bi-directional catalogue part synchronisation of the E-CAD and PLM part libraries. Synchronisations can be set either regularly or on demand. The new integration includes functions for creation and update of parts data and supports the latest Teamcenter releases.
