PT ABB Sakti Industri and PT Prima Layanan Niaga Suku Cadang (PLN SC) have signed an extended strategic frame agreement to cover the provision of maintenance, technical services and lifecycle support. This includes automation upgrades, retrofits, electrical and automation spare parts, flame scanner and digital solutions for PLN SC’s power plants and other industries in Indonesia. The scope of the collaboration supports PLN SC’s projects nationwide, enhancing operational reliability and efficiency, as well as reinforcing both companies’ shared vision of modernizing Indonesia’s energy sector.
The extension of the strategic frame agreement was signed in the presence of several industry leaders in Jakarta during the Modernizing Indonesia’s Energy Sector for Sustainable Growth event in Jakarta, hosted by the Financial Times in partnership with ABB.
The conference brought together executives from Medco Energi, ASEAN Center of Energy, National Energy Council, Institute for Essential Services Reform and ABB to discuss how collaboration, innovation and investment can address energy security while enabling the transition to low-carbon energy sources. The opening keynote was delivered by Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Indonesia, which set the tone for a powerful dialogue on modernizing Indonesia’s energy sector for sustainable growth.
Indonesia is balancing rising electricity demand with the opportunities for growth and innovation associated with developing its energy infrastructure. The nation has committed to diversifying its energy mix, targeting the addition of 42.6 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy by the end of 2034, alongside plans for a Supergrid to connect low-carbon energy sources with high-demand areas. Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen infrastructure resilience, accelerate the shift to cleaner power, and open new avenues for more sustainable growth and innovation.
