Ovako brings ‘real competitive edge’ to Ankiros 2016 with its next generation steels
Ovako will be among exhibitors at Ankiros 2016 in Istanbul, the 13th international iron-steel and foundry technology, machinery and products trade fair, to discuss the advantages that its ‘next’ generation high performance engineering materials can bring to Turkey’s thriving steel industry.
Visitors to Ankiros 2016 can join Ovako at SAN Malzeme Stand No. H2-A200 to talk about how its attribute brands BQ-Steel®, IQ-Steel®, M-Steel® and WR-Steel® and other high performance engineering steels can help customers reduce their costs, save on production time and explore new design solutions.“Turkey has become one of the most important countries for steel production over the last 10 years. We look forward speaking with visitors to our stand at Ankiros 2016 about the ways in which Ovako engineering steels outperform standard grades, and offer benefits both in processing and use,” said Rumen Karamihalev, sales manager for Central East Europe at Ovako.
The attribute brands include IQ-Steel which stands for isotropic quality, an ultra-clean steel in which inclusion sizes are minimized in order to drastically improve the directional properties of components. BQ-Steel is manufactured for bearing quality, and also produced with strict control of cleanliness to guarantee optimized fatigue strength in demanding applications.
Further design advantages are offered by M-Steel, which can reduce machining times and increase cutting speeds by up to 30% without the need for capital investment. Ankiros 2016 visitors can also learn about the extensive range of proven superior wear resistant WR-Steels, of which Ovako is the world’s largest manufacturer.
Göran Nyström, Ovako Executive Vice President of Marketing and Technology said, “Our material research and product development is continually looking at ways to help the customer achieve more cost-effective performances from advanced engineering steels. Ovako can provide them with the real competitive edge, which is so necessary in these markets.”
Ovako will be located in the ‘Special Steel Halls’ for steel producers, which has been part of Ankiros since 2012 to recognize the growing importance of the Turkish steel industry. The capacity of Turkish steel production has increased to the level of 50 million tons and is expected to reach 85 million tons in 2023.
Rumen Karamihalev added, “We look forward to talking with visitors at Ankiros 2016 about how our high performance engineering steels can facilitate forming, shaping, machining and welding – all perfectly matched to your production requirements. Ovako is here to help the steel industry in Turkey and the wider Europe region rethink the design possibilities.”
Ovako develops high-tech steel solutions for, and in cooperation with, its customers in the bearing, transport and manufacturing industries. Our steel makes our customers’ end products more resilient and extends their useful life, ultimately resulting in smarter, more energy-efficient and more environmentally-friendly products.
Our production is based on recycled scrap and includes steel in the form of bar, tube, ring and pre-components. Ovako is represented in more than 30 countries, and has sales offices in Europe, North America and Asia. Ovako’s sales in 2015 amounted to EUR 834 million, and the company had 2,905 employees at year-end. For more information, please visit us at: www.ovako.com
