IMI CCI Japan, part of IMI Critical Engineering, was approached by a Japanese engineering, procurement and construction company EPC to work on the project on the strength of its reputation within the sector. The contract required IMI CCI Japan to supply eight sets of low pressure turbine bypass isolation and control valves, each with a capacity of 1050MW. While the the assembly and testing of the turbine bypass valves was undertaken at IMI CCI Japan, IMI CCI Sri City was chosen as the manufacturing facility for the valve body (including all welding and desuperheater), fully machined internals and the bonnet having demonstrated superior capability and quality in order to provide a competitive package.

IMI Critical Engineering was able to make the most of its global manufacturing and design footprint to deliver the large-scale project to an exacting client specification, highlighting its unrivalled ability to serve its growing global customer base.

Ajit Sreekumar, President of IMI Critical Engineering India, explained: “As a business, we have a track record for delivering cutting-edge solutions to our global customer base and contracts of this magnitude speak volumes about our unique design and manufacturing capability. We are comfortable taking on large-scale, international projects and have the resources as well as the ambition to meet our customers’ needs.”
