Just four months after agreeing to a strategic partnership with Guangzhou Zeer Testing Technology Co Ltd (Zeer), Ansible Motion has announced orders for two of its award-winning automotive driving simulators in China – to evaluate tomorrow’s vehicles safely and efficiently, today.
Zeer is a leading, full-service provider of testing products and technical solutions for the domestic China automotive testing market and operates an Ansible Motion Theta series Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator at its company headquarters in Guangzhou, China – in the Guangdong Province, near Hong Kong and Macau. As a trusted partner in the Chinese automotive industry, Zeer supports customers to advance their vehicle product development programmes and has worked with Ansible Motion’s parent company, AB Dynamics Group (AB Dynamics), for several years.
Dan Clark, managing director of AB Dynamics’ simulator business, states: “The AB Dynamics Group has enjoyed a long and successful relationship with Zeer for the supply of automotive test equipment and driving simulators in the Chinese market. We are delighted to bring Ansible Motion – AB Dynamics’ most recent acquisition – into this partnership for the supply of world-class DIL simulators”.
Since March this year Zeer has collaborated directly on the development, deployment and servicing of virtual test driving and simulation solutions that can benefit Chinese automotive OEMs and research organisations. The result is the sale of two Delta series S3 flagship DIL simulators to some of the most respected names in the Chinese automotive industry.
One Ansible Motion simulator will be deployed by Zeer to FAW Group Corp Ltd (First Automobile Works) in Changchun, Jilin Province, to support multiple new vehicle development projects. Zeer and Ansible Motion are also delivering another simulator to China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co Ltd (CAERI)’s headquarters in the Chongqing municipality, which will be used to assist CAERI’s advanced automotive research and development activities.
A spokesperson for FAW Group Corp Ltd provides insight: “Zeer has helped us understand the benefits of Driver-in-the-Loop simulation and has satisfied our technical requirements. We are pleased to be the first recipient of an Ansible Motion dynamic DIL simulator in China. It is an advanced technology that is now necessary to develop our vehicles for an increasingly sophisticated market and to ensure that our vehicles remain at the leading edge”.
Clark continues: “The strength and potential of this new partnership is already evident and underpinned by the two recent high-profile sales of Ansible Motion Delta series S3 DIL simulators into the Chinese market. This demonstrates the increasing dominance of the Delta S3 in the simulation and development of vehicle dynamics and ADAS functionality”.
Jack Tan, general manager of Guangzhou Zeer Testing Technology Co Ltd comments: "We are happy to partner with Ansible Motion to bring industry-leading DIL simulation solutions into the China market and to deliver local support for our customers. Our first deployments to FAW and CAERI are already underway and we are looking forward to our future collaborations".
Kia Cammaerts, founder and technical director of Ansible Motion, adds: “DIL simulation is accelerating and improving vehicle design and development work in China. As we work together with Zeer, customers can now benefit from industry-leading simulation tools, as well as locally-based support and advice to specifically meet the unique market needs in China”.
Jack Tan (Zeer) and Kia Cammaerts (Ansible Motion) forge new strategic partnership
Ansible Motion and AB Dynamics will join Zeer’s presence at the upcoming Automotive Testing Expo 2023 China, on August 9-11 in Shanghai. Key representatives from Zeer, Ansible Motion and AB Dynamics will be present for in-person discussions at a comprehensive exhibition stand featuring an Ansible Motion Theta series Seat DIL simulator, as well as many other simulation and test solutions.
