CYBER SECURITY: MOVICON.NEXT OBTAINS IEC 62443-3-3 CERTIFICATION FOR INDUSTRIAL SYSTEM SECURITY
Cybersecurity is about defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, network and data from malicious attacks. It is also known as computer security or electronic information security and is applied in various contexts, from business to mobile computing, and can be divided into different categories.
In today’s world of Industry 4.0 and the consequent increase in interconnectivity of various devices in the field and from remote systems, the need to protect data has become paramount.
Therefore, Progea has chosen to continue to improve its technology and requested Movicon.NExT validation in conformance to the IEC 62443-3-3 standard on Industrial communication networks – Network and Security System – Part 3-3: System security requirements and security levels.
Movicon.NExT was validated with the LRC00001153/3547690 Rev 1 certification by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Italy on 16th June 2020 after various audit and cyberattack simulations were carried out. This it testimony that Movicon.NExT is a software platform explicitly designed to meet all the necessary I4.0 automation system security requirements and all projects can be created in line with the requirements set out in the IEC 62443 standard.
This confirms that the Movicon.NExT software development, support and quality assurance processes are designed by Progea to be completely safe in conformance with the current industrial IT security guidelines.
