Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt. Ltd is now Gold Certified Green Building

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has awarded the Gold certificate in the IGBC Green Factory Buildings Rating System category to Bonfiglioli Transmissions Pvt. Ltd, for its newest factory at Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The factory - a fully digital and world-class facility - started its operations in 2018.

Green buildings are defined as “one which uses less water, optimizes energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste, and provides healthier spaces for occupants, as compared to conventional buildings”.

This award is based on a complete assessment of the site in the categories of sustainable site, water conservation, energy conservation, indoor environmental quality, material conservation and innovation.

Initiatives such as prevention of soil erosion, rainwater harvesting, re-use of wastewater, and several others, have been strongly considered by Bonfiglioli to develop a sustainable site.
