SUEZ reaffirms long-term commitment to China

Expanding cooperation with Lianyun District to advance industrial water recycling
In Jiangsu Province, SUEZ will deepen its collaboration with the Lianyun Economic Development Zone to jointly study the investment in, construction, and operation of a new industrial water treatment plant. Valued at RMB 440 million, the project is designed to provide 50,000 m³/day of industrial water and 20,000 m³/day of demineralized water.

As a major regional growth engine home to over 1,000 companies across new materials, petrochemicals, and advanced manufacturing, the Lianyun Economic Development Zone faces rising demand for stable, high-quality industrial water. Once commissioned, the new facility will significantly enhance water resource conservation, reduce operational costs for local enterprises, and support sustainable industrial development in the region.

Extending partnership with Shandong Public from water services to infrastructure and waste management
In Shandong Province, SUEZ has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shandong Public Water Group, marking a shift from project-based collaboration to a broader strategic partnership. Leveraging Shandong Public’s strong local resources and SUEZ’s global expertise, the cooperation will expand beyond water services into infrastructure development and waste management—advancing shared goals for sustainability and circular economy impact across the province.

Since 2023, Shandong Public has been one of SUEZ’s key regional partners. The two companies have already delivered notable achievements, including resource-recovery improvements at Qufu’s municipal wastewater treatment plant. At the Jining Industrial Park, their zero liquid discharge (ZLD) project produces 3.6 million m³ of alternative water annually—equivalent to 1,500 Olympic swimming pools—and recovers 85% of crystalline salt for sodium sulfate, demonstrating strong environmental and circular economy performance.
