The Dürr Group grows through production technology for electric vehicles

The automotive industry is investing large sums in electromobility. In doing so, it is focusing not only on developing battery-powered cars but also on equipping its plants with modern production technology. This provides an opportunity for the Dürr Group: In 2019, incoming orders relating to e-mobility production technology increased by 44% to € 390 million. Aside from well-established OEMs, customers also include many new manufacturers of battery vehicles.

More than 1500 autoclave cycles possible

FAULHABER developed the new sterilisable 2057…BA family of motors especially for medical applications. In the sensor-free variant, the drives can withstand more than 1500 autoclave cycles. They are optimized for high speeds of up to 65,000 rpm, as are required in, e.g., the handpieces of dental equipment.

Testing automotive electronics: Rohde & Schwarz exhibits fast, robust and compact test solutions at EMV 2020

Today's vehicles contain more and more electronics with RF technology, radio components, radars and high speed data buses. That's why, at EMV 2020 in Cologne (Germany), Rohde & Schwarz will present EMC test solutions specifically for users in the automotive industry: the fastest CISPR-25 certification, a robust and compact BCI test system, and R&S AdVISE version 5, which keeps a close eye even on vibrating display elements during EMS tests.

NSK in-wheel motor charges wirelessly while in motion

NSK has developed the third generation of its in-wheel motor, the world’s first design of its type to feature a complete package comprising motor, inverter and wireless charging unit. The innovative wireless in-wheel motor (W-IWM) for the electric vehicle (EV) market is capable of charging from coils embedded in the road, while in motion. Development of the latest unit was conducted jointly by a research group comprising NSK, the Fujimoto Laboratory at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, Bridgestone Corporation, ROHM Co Ltd and Toyo Electric Mfg Co Ltd.
