Edge datacenters -Delta to showcase all-in-one containerized datacenter at CeBIT 2017
The world leader in power electronics and energy management system solutions, Delta Electronics, will use the CeBIT 2017 exhibition (20-24 March, Hannover, Germany) to showcase its all-in-one containerized datacenter. This new-generation unit features converged AC and DC power supplies to suit ever-evolving edge computing applications at telecommunications companies and network carriers. Importantly, it also offers comprehensive cooling, customizable DCIM (datacenter infrastructure management), scalable capacity and quick deployment for implementation anywhere.

The innovative power system is a particular highlight as it offers future-proofing in line with changing requirements. Furthermore, the eco-friendly cooling and airflow management system is comprehensive, featuring RowCool DXA 35kW units inside and condenser units outside. Hot/cold aisle containment systems are also deployed to help increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Further benefits include high scalability for rapid project deployment (months not years) and the use of plug and play standard modules. Standardized infrastructure within the modules enables standard operating procedures to be used universally. IT complies with various internal and external standards, so why should datacenters be any different? Delta’s containerized datacenter makes it possible to quickly deploy standardized modules that allow IT and facilities to finally be on the same page.

Edge datacenters act as caching and data-aggregation points between users and larger datacenters to ease overwhelming loads in IT applications, media content and storage. It is predicted that smartphone traffic will multiply by a factor of 11 between 2015 and 2021 (largely driven by video content), by which time there will be 9.1 billion mobile phone subscriptions worldwide and a rapidly rising quantity of cellular connected IoT devices. As well as maximizing quality for the user, an edge datacenter helps avoid clogging backhaul links on the network.
Anyone interested in learning more is invited to visit Delta at CeBIT 2017 (Hall 12, Stand D83) where the company’s expert and friendly team will be more than pleased to discuss any specific requirements.
