IBASE Joins ITxPT to Implement In-vehicle Computing Solutions for Public Transport

IBASE Technology has announced today that it has joined the non-profit Information Technology for Public Transport (ITxPT) Association as an associate member.

The mission of the ITxPT Association is to enable interoperability between IT systems in public transport by offering public specification of an IT architecture based on standards with open interfaces for on-board, over-the-air and back-office IT systems. It enables an open architecture, data accessibility and interoperability between IT systems. The members of ITxPT develop the IT architecture for public transport and other mobility services together, based on standards and best practices.

IBASE is an expert in the design and manufacturing of in-vehicle computing solutions. We are focused on building the next generation of intelligent transportation devices and fully support the global adoption of open data standards in public transport. Moving to standardized architectures not only increases customer choice, but also helps reduce the cost of deploying these valuable data systems.

ITxPT is a non-profit association open to all companies and organizations with an interest in developing public transport into the most efficient, sustainable, and attractive means of travel. Its members are a mix of industry, operators, and authorities from all over the world. The ITxPT governance is fairly shared between decision makers (public transport authorities and operators) and industry (vehicle manufacturers and IT suppliers).
