OMRON TO START PRODUCTION USING SOLAR POWER

OMRON Corporation will start production using solar power generation systems at five production sites in Japan for OMRON Device & Module Solutions Company on May 15th, 2023. This is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 1,200 tons per year. By accelerating the provision of devices and modules produced from clean energy, it aims to achieve 100% renewable energy use at its production sites in Japan by fiscal 2024, thereby contributing to carbon neutrality across the entire supply chain.

In its long-term vision, “Shaping the Future 2030 (SF2030),” OMRON identified “Resolving social issues through our business” and “Achieving decarbonization and lower environmental impact” as two of its material sustainability issues. As for " Achieving decarbonization and lower environmental impact," OMRON has declared to achieve OMRON Carbon Zero, a goal to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions from its own sites by the year 2050, and has set a goal of expediting Carbon Zero at all 76 sites in Japan by the end of FY2024.

OMRON Device & Module Solutions Company has completed the installation of solar power generation systems at five production sites in Japan and will begin production using solar power. OMRON Device & Module Solutions Company has set its growth strategy of offering new value corresponding to "Green, Digital, and Speed” to achieve its long-term vision. As part of the initiative of “Green”, which aims to create solutions that contribute to the environment, it is expanding the “DMS GREEN PROJECT” in order to support the initiatives of realizing carbon neutrality of our customers.

OMRON will contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through environmentally friendly manufacturing.
