WEIDMÜLLER TO SET UP A NEW MANUFACTURING SITE IN CHINA

The Weidmüller Group's new manufacturing site will be built in China's leading industrial park, the Suzhou Industrial Park. In addition to R&D and logistics, administrative functions will also be integrated into the new building complex. High technological standards in terms of automation and digitalisation will be taken into account in the new building. The production area will be 20,000 square metres, R&D approx. 8,000 square metres.

With their new site, Weidmüller will strengthen its local-for-local concept in China. It will enable the company to make its logistics and production processes much more efficient. The electronics and connectivity technology company will produce its products locally for China and Asia. This will reduce CO2 emissions caused by long transport routes. In addition, the company strengthens its presence in the fast-growing Chinese market and will be closer to its clients in China.

The official kick-off for the project took place on April 12th 2023 with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on-site in the Suzhou Industrial Park.
