PTXPO2023 Beyond technology with Nextmover by Bausano
Bausano – leading international player in the design and production of customized extrusion lines for the transformation of plastic materials - announces its participation in PTXPO 2023, the three-day event dedicated to presenting the most advanced technologies in the plastics industry.
A showcase of excellence for industry professionals, which will take place March 28-30, in Rosemont, Illinois. In particular, at the stand No. 4107 in the Extrusion & Thermoforming Pavilion, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Bausano's most advanced technology firsthand, thanks to the display of a Nextmover range Twin Screw Extruder, ready for delivery, equipped with the Multidrive, a unique system in the world, a guarantee of maximum efficiency and longevity of mechanical components.
The result of years of research and experimentation, Bausano's unique patented Multidrive transmission system features four shafts, each governed by a motor. This composition ensures that the torque stress is distributed over four points, in favor of lower stresses on the drive shaft, screws and gears, and higher torque for less power installed on each motor. The resulting benefits are, therefore, reduced risk of failure, increased average life of the machine itself, and low energy consumption. In addition, Multidrive makes it possible to decrease the stress suffered by the material during the machining process. Variables such as temperature and mechanical strain are, in fact, crucial in achieving extrudate gelation, but they can affect its quality. With this technology, the superior torque returned allows operation at lower temperatures, achieving gentle gelation. Finally, constant rotation and perfect synchronism of the motors are ensured by a single static frequency converter, by virtue of which no additional devices are required for proper operation.
In the exhibition setting, the innovative Smart Energy System, which is in the process of being patented, will also be presented. An integrated temperature control system consisting of: an extrusion barrel, forced-cooled induction coils, temperature sensor and Digital Extruder Control 4.0 with dedicated software. Specifically, heating is done without contact, by means of an alternating electromagnetic field, so that the temperature during the process is kept constant at all times and energy savings of up to 35% are achieved. In addition, unlike traditional resistance systems, where there is heat loss, with the induction system it is possible to directly control the temperature of the barrel, which is always constant, thus allowing full control over that of the processed material as well. This is an aspect that assumes significant importance in the processing of scraps, which are more prone to degradative phenomena. In this context, closer monitoring of temperatures enhances the overall production yield.
"Pivotal pillar of research and development activity is the combination of state-of-the-art technologies and our technical know-how, which can enhance them. At PTXPO 2023, industry players, active in the plastics sector, will be able to learn more about the features of the Multidrive and Smart Energy systems, Bausano's technological milestones, whose value is recognized by Customers," says Giorgio Critelli, US Sales Director of the Company, who concludes "Our Experts will also be on hand to show the full potential of our lines and their ability to ensure significant competitive advantages, in terms of production and energy efficiency."
