The future in production is also lead-free
HUMMEL AG presents lead-free cable glands. In future, the premium cable gland HSK-M in sizes M12 to M63 will also be available in lead-free versions.
Lead-free future in production: with the lead-free cable glands of the premium series HSK-M, HUMMEL AG is making an important contribution to this. The manufacturer of electromechanical components is thus offering its customers a future-proof, sustainable solution. HUMMEL customers can start the conversion process to a lead-free future today. This makes them legally compliant and serves the environment.
Background: Currently, cable glands made of brass may contain a maximum of four percent lead. The basis for this is an exception to the RoHS Directive, which is expected to expire on 21.7.2021. Whether there will be an extension of this exemption is uncertain. Especially because of the REACH regulation also includes lead in the list of "substances of very high concern". This means that anyone wishing to convert their production to lead-free in future can get this project off the ground today with HUMMEL AG.
Users do not need to worry about how HUMMEL cable glands work. All technical properties such as temperature ranges, tightness, impact resistance or strain relief remain unchanged. Even the important approvals of the HSK-M series - including UL in particular - will remain unchanged for the lead-free versions.
Handling is also simple. The lead-free cable glands retain the old article numbers and are simply supplemented with the suffix "LF" (Lead Free). The product itself is also marked with the addition "LF". This prevents confusion in the warehouse. The conditions for a smooth changeover are fulfilled. The lead-free future in production is an important contribution to environmental protection and the careful use of resources.
