Nordic's nRF52833 Multiprotocol SoC, Now at Mouser, Supports Higher Temperatures of Pro Lighting Designs
Mouser Electronics, Inc. and Nordic Semiconductor have introduced to the distribution channel the nRF52833 multiprotocol system-on-chip (SoC).
Featuring Bluetooth® 5.1 direction finding capabilities and an expanded temperature range, the nRF52833 is ideal for professional lighting, asset tracking, and smart home applications.
"The nRF52833 brings even more versatility to what is a very mature hardware and software platform used in hundreds of millions of products across the globe," said Kjetil Holstad, Director of Product Management with Nordic Semiconductor. "Such stability is especially important for commercial and industrial markets where product lifetimes are generally longer."
The Nordic nRF52833 SoC, available from Mouser Electronics, features a 64 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M4 core with floating point unit (FPU), with 512 Kbytes of flash and 128 Kbytes of RAM for higher value applications. The SoC includes a radio support for Bluetooth 5.1 capabilities such as direction finding, Bluetooth mesh, and long range use, along with support for IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee®, Thread, and proprietary 2.4 GHz protocols.
The nRF52833 SoC's dynamic multiprotocol capabilities enable excellent performance in professional lighting applications, as the device's concurrent support for Bluetooth Low Energy and other protocols enables commissioning, provisioning, and interaction with a lighting mesh network from a smartphone. The device's robust operating temperature range also enables usage in industrial and lighting applications that feature high ambient temperatures.
