Industry Leaders from Around the World to Speak at Tank Storage Asia 2019
The Leading Event for the Bulk Liquid Storage Industry Opens Next Week.
Mark Stuart, the internationally sought-after speaker and trainer from the Anagram Group, will deliver the keynote address at Tank Storage Asia 2019, joining senior figures from leading organisations, such as Wood Mackenzie and Oiltanking Asia Pacific, as part of the event’s CPD-certified conference programme. The conference, produced by Tank Storage Magazine, will discuss the most pressing challenges faced by the bulk liquid storage industry when the event returns to Singapore’s Marina Sands Expo & Convention Centre on the 25th and 26th September.
The event will also provide an unrivalled platform for over 60 of the sector’s leading organisations to exhibit their latest innovations in product and service development. Business opportunities will be plentiful with senior-level buyers and decision-makers in attendance. In addition, industry peers can make invaluable business connections during the numerous networking opportunities on offer.
Mark Stuart will discuss how leadership teams in traditional industries, such as oil and gas, construction and logistics, must take measures to adapt to a fast-changing digital world.
Conference delegates will learn to establish innovation strategies, develop employees and utilise big data. Stuart is set to emphasise that digital transformation must be driven by a plan of action that clearly communicates how, and in what order, workplace practices should be updated.
Within the session, he will outline training regimes that give staff the key skills needed to help them embrace and optimise workplace practices driven by technology. In addition, the keynote will explain how organisations, such as oil terminals and tank storage companies, can leverage data to build Artificial Intelligence solutions that can help with operations, planning and terminal management.
Sushant Gupta, Director – Asia-Pacific Refining – at Wood Mackenzie, is also speaking at Tank Storage Asia. His session will examine the market dynamics currently shaping global crude trade flows. Gupta predicts that the largest change in the market will be the rise and globalisation of US light crude exports to Europe and Asia.
This means that Europe will cut its non-US crude imports and, as a result, some African and Middle Eastern crudes are likely to be displaced out of the continent. Gupta will stress that Asia’s growth market remains buoyant for these crudes.
Gupta will also address industry uncertainty on the impact that IMO 2020 will have on crude trade. He will share his predictions on compliancy and scrubber penetration rates, discuss how refiners will re-optimise their crude slate, and debate whether refiners have the infrastructure or capability to segregate sweet crudes and internal low-sulphur fuel oil streams.
Oiltanking Asia Pacific, one of the world’s largest independent tank storage operators, has recently used Singapore’s new Safety Case Regime to improve its risk management. Lai Siang Yeong, Asset and Operations Manager and HSSE Manager, will discuss how the organisation has proactively identified and managed its HSSE risks, reviewed systematic processes to implement safety measures onsite, and considered how organisational, technical and human factors contribute to safety in its installations.
Edwin Ebrahimi, Innovation Engagement Leader at Vopak, will use his own experiences to speak about the ways Vopak has used digital asset management, drones for tank and jetty inspections, and smart sensors for condition monitoring, to drive its digital transformation journey.
Harshit Sharma, Oil and Gas Expert at Lux Research, and Chok Vui Shung, General Manager at Stolthaven Singapore, will address the matter of sustainability at Tank Storage Asia. Chok Vui Shung will encourage tank storage companies to embrace solar energy, whilst Sharma will debate the role that hydrogen will play as a fuel type in a decarbonised future. He will further outline his vision for a global hydrogen distribution network that can meet industry demand for renewable power generation.
Mark Rimmer, Tank Storage Portfolio Director, comments: “The conference programme will give delegates the opportunity to learn from some of the most forward-thinking minds in the industry, as well as experts like Mark Stuart, whose vision for developing leaders for the digital age is truly inspiring. His unmissable keynote will give attendees tangible advice that they can implement to drive change within their own businesses after the conference ends.”
