Kone to Equip Shanghai Metro Line 15
KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, will deliver 203 escalators and 65 elevators to Shanghai's newest Metro Line 15, which, once completed in 2020, will form part of the world's longest mass-transit rail system.
Serving the Western areas of the city, the Shanghai Metro Line 15 will be 42 kilometres in length and have 30 underground stations. With approximately 1 million individual trips on an average weekday, the Line 15 terminal stations will be Gucun Park in Baoshan District and Zizhu Hi-Tech Park in Minhang.For a smooth, safe and pleasant experience, KONE will be equipping 16 stations with 203 KONE TransitMaster™ escalators, which are highly durable and designed for the most demanding public transportation environments. Also, KONE will equip all 30 stations with 65 KONE MonoSpace® elevators.

The project is estimated to be completed by 2020, and it is developed by Shanghai Rail Transit Line 15 Development Co., Ltd.
KONE booked the order in the first quarter of 2019.
