The inter airport China 2018 is the country’s biggest trade fair for the airport industry. The Northern German drive specialist NORD DRIVESYSTEMS is also on site in Peking to present its intelligent drive concepts to the Chinese expert audience between the 5th and the 7th September. The main focus is on the decentralised field distributor series NORDAC LINK, which offers a flexible and easy to install drive solution for baggage handling systems.

Thousands of baggage items are handled daily at airport operations. Not only are failures or malfunctions of the conveyor technology inconvenient for passengers, they also cause considerable expenditure for the maintenance personnel. Therefore, reliable drive systems are crucial to guarantee smooth handling procedures. The field distributor series NORDAC LINK by NORD DRIVESYSTEMS offers a plug-in drive solution in form of a decentralised frequency inverter for fast and flexible installation close to the motor.

The decentralised frequency inverters SK 250E (up to 7,5 kW) and the motor starter 155E (up to 3 kW) of the NORDAC LINK series allows for quick commissioning as well as simple operation and maintenance. All modules, components and connections are combined using simple plug connectors. In addition to the high plug-in capability, integrated maintenance switches and switches for manual operation ensure a high level of user-friendliness. The systems are freely configurable and compatible with all common bus systems.

Integrated PLC for intelligent networking

All frequency inverters and motor starters by NORD are equipped with an integrated efficient PLC, which is able to reduce the load of the higher level control and carry out control tasks autonomously. The PLC is freely programmable, processes data from sensors and actuators and, if necessary, it initiates a sequence control. Drive and application data can be communicated to the control centre or the networked components. Drive units can communicate their status data via the control system or directly into existing clouds. The intelligent networking offers conditions for Predictive Maintenance or continuous Condition Monitoring of the drives as well as optimised plant dimensions.
