Korean Machine Tool Giant DN Solutions Opens First Plant in India

DN Solutions has officially inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in India, located within the Bengaluru ITIR Industrial Area in Karnataka. The site brings together four segments of the machine tool value chain: manufacturing, research and development, after-sales technical service, and engineering training. Initial production lines will focus on SVM vertical machining centers alongside LYNX and LEO horizontal turning centers, with plans to introduce five-axis machine manufacturing in future phases.

Supply Chain Localization and Physical AI Strategy
DN Solutions plans to build a localized manufacturing ecosystem in India, having already reached approximately 80% localization by parts count, including large-part machining, shaft components, and key machined structures. The company is actively collaborating with local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and aims to introduce a formal supplier development initiative by 2027.

The Bengaluru site will also serve as a development base for Physical AI integration—where artificial intelligence systems directly operate physical machinery—leveraging the city’s software ecosystem, automation capabilities, and engineering talent.

Market Strategy and Industrial Context
Machine tools operate as the foundational capital goods required to cut, drill, grind, and shape high-precision metals across key sectors such as automotive, aerospace, semiconductors, medical devices, defense, and shipbuilding. While DN Solutions will initially direct output from the Bengaluru facility toward meeting domestic Indian manufacturing demand, the facility is designed to scale into a global export hub over the long term.
