Environne'Tech invests in a climate chamber for large volumes and extreme temperatures.
Already last year, on its 30th anniversary Environne'Tech (Emitech Group) announced that the Bourgoin-Jallieu 2020 project would begin with the expansion of its centre for equipment qualification and environmental tests. The new building, with a floor area of 800 m2 and a height of 10 m is designed to handle voluminous test subjects such as aeronautic parts, entire vehicles or bulky installations. By 13 November, the first test campaign was started in a new, purpose-built, 93 m3 climate chamber, which complements the existing equipment.
Environne’Tech's new climate chamber, installed in Bourgoin-Jallieu, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, has large dimensions: 6.90 m depth, 4.50 m width and 3 m height, yielding a volume of 93 m3. Apart from its volume, it offers numerous other features: an extended operating temperature range of -60°C to +135°C; humidity generation up to 98% and supporting a mass of 9 tonnes. With this new installation, Environne’Tech is now able to respond to the increasing and repeated requests for testing voluminous material and under extreme temperatures.
The installation is able to contain entire vehicles, heavy aeronautic or rail parts, elements of industrial equipment, for the nuclear industry in particular, or even testing several assemblies simultaneously. It is also possible to accommodate 6-axis robot manipulators in the chamber along with the measurement equipment. Tests can then be performed on complex manoeuvring capabilities, endurance, and temperature. The remaining volume in the interior of the chamber that surrounds this equipment ensures optimal test quality.
The chamber is equipped with a porthole to enable the operator to easily perform visual checks. For complex tests, a video surveillance system is also available. Numerous apertures are also provided available for passing cables.
A pedestrian door provided in addition to the large 4.5 m x 3 m door, which prevents losses to environmental conditions when operators enter and exit the chamber.
The practical and efficient features of this equipment are complemented by a new 128-channel specific acquisition unit which increases the options available for the test campaign.
The unique resources of the test centre allow Environne’Tech to offer a completely new platform to industrial customers who wish to carry out comprehensive test campaigns on a wider range of materials, and particularly on voluminous test subjects. These capabilities are particularly important for industries with special requirements such as the aeronautic, automotive, nuclear industries and the energy sector in general, but also apply to other industry sectors.
