Connector with Reduced Locking Forces
HARTING optimizes Han-Yellock for easier handling and higher power density in industrial applications.

HARTING has revised the Han-Yellock connector, significantly reducing the required locking forces. The update targets applications in industry, machinery, and robotics where compact design, ease of use, and high power density are critical.
Reduced locking forces and improved handling
The design changes focus on usability. By implementing circumferential double-lip seals on bulkhead- and housing-mounted components, the required locking forces have been significantly reduced. Unlocking is achieved via push buttons requiring minimal force, facilitating operation in confined or hard-to-access installation environments.
An audible click confirms that the locking process has been completed, supporting secure assembly.
Design and mechanical characteristics
The external design remains unchanged, combining black and yellow housing elements with rounded contours and zinc die-cast components. The connector is intended for use in visible areas where both functionality and low installation height are required.
Power density and miniaturization
The revised design enables high power density within compact dimensions. The Han-Yellock 60 accommodates up to 48 power contacts rated at 16 A within a footprint comparable to Han 16B housings. The Han-Yellock 30 monoblock integrates 25 contacts (16 A), exceeding the power density of Han EE inserts in standard Han 6B housings.
These characteristics support applications requiring both miniaturization and high electrical performance.
Modular integration and flexible configuration
The connector is designed for modular architectures and supports integration with the Han-Modular series via adapter frames. The ability to multiply contacts and potentials through plug-in modules enables application-specific configurations.
The cable side features a two-part design, allowing both front-fit and rear-fit assembly. Visual inspection of the connection side can be performed without disconnecting the interface, simplifying maintenance procedures.
Coding and assembly efficiency
Up to 25 coding options ensure correct mating of interfaces and reduce the risk of mismating. Assembly times are shortened through tool-free click-in installation of Han-Modular modules and Han-Yellock monoblocks.
With these updates, HARTING extends the applicability of the connector in compact, high-performance industrial systems, supporting the requirements of modern modular architectures.
