Metso has announced an investment in a new rubber products plant in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, aimed at meeting rising regional demand and enhancing customer responsiveness. The facility will manufacture rubber and Poly-Met mill linings, along with Trellex® screening media, supporting improved performance, reliability, and product availability for customers in the rapidly growing Chinese mining sector.
Strengthening local production and supply chains
The new factory forms part of Metso’s broader strategy to strengthen regional operations in key customer markets. By expanding local manufacturing capabilities in China, Metso aims to shorten delivery times, improve supply chain resilience, and offer faster response to customer needs.
Localized production will allow closer collaboration with customers and enable more flexible customization of wear parts, while maintaining compliance with Metso’s global quality and performance standards.
Product scope and production timeline
The Quzhou plant will manufacture a range of wear solutions designed for demanding mining and aggregates applications, including:
- Rubber and Poly-Met mill linings for grinding circuits
- Trellex® screening media for crushing and screening operations
Production of screening media is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Mill lining production will follow toward the end of the first half of the year, supported by modern manufacturing technologies capable of producing larger and more complex rubber and composite components with high efficiency and consistent quality.

Technology-driven competitiveness
Quzhou was selected as the site for the new facility due to its strategic importance within Metso’s existing Chinese operations, including the presence of a top-tier foundry. This proximity allows Metso to combine rubber, Poly-Met, and metallic mill lining technologies, strengthening its technological edge and competitive positioning.
Metso’s mill linings and screening media are engineered to enhance equipment reliability, extend service life, and improve cost efficiency, safety, and sustainability across both grinding and crushing and screening circuits.
Commitment to the Chinese market
According to Metso, the investment reflects long-term commitment to customers in the Greater China region. By leveraging local supply chains, research and development capabilities, and manufacturing expertise, the company aims to better address diverse customer requirements with high-quality, customized solutions.
The new rubber products factory is expected to play a key role in supporting Metso’s mining and aggregates customers in China by combining advanced manufacturing, local presence, and global technology leadership.
