Valmet has been selected to modernize five tissue machines operated by Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Ltd. in China by replacing existing shoe presses with Advantage ViscoNip press technology. The rebuilds will be carried out at Lee & Man’s mills in Chongqing, Jiangxi and Guangdong, with all upgraded machines expected to be operational during 2026.
The decision follows Lee & Man’s operational experience with nine previously delivered Advantage DCT tissue machines equipped with ViscoNip presses. The technology was selected for its ability to deliver uniform moisture profiles, stable machine runnability, and consistent tissue quality, while also reducing maintenance requirements and extending press belt lifetime.

Advantage ViscoNip technology features a soft pressing element combined with adjustable press load during operation, enabling improved energy efficiency and enhanced control of tissue properties. With more than 100 ViscoNip presses operating globally, the solution has become a widely adopted reference in modern tissue production.
The order includes upgrade packages and related services for five tissue machines (TM 3, 9, 10, 11 and 12).
