McDermott Awarded EPCIC Contract for Natural Gas Development Project Offshore Brunei

McDermott has been awarded a significant subsea contract by PETRONAS Carigali Brunei Ltd. for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of a major natural gas development offshore Brunei Darussalam—one of the country’s most substantial conventional gas projects to date. The award follows McDermott’s successful delivery of front-end engineering design (FEED), engineering optimization and readiness planning for the field.

Under the scope of work, McDermott will provide EPCIC services for a subsea production system and associated infrastructure—including umbilicals, risers and flowlines—linking six wells to a floating production unit for natural gas extraction. The company will also execute EPCIC activities for a gas export pipeline that will supply feedstock to Brunei’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.

Project management will be driven from McDermott’s engineering center of excellence in Kuala Lumpur, supported by teams across global offices and project sites. The development is expected to provide a long-term supply of natural gas for Brunei, strengthening domestic energy security while supporting LNG export commitments.
