Today's vehicles contain more and more electronics with RF technology, radio components, radars and high speed data buses. This makes it difficult for automobile manufacturers to ensure that electronic emissions remain within specified limits and that vehicles are not susceptible to external interference sources. That's why, at EMV 2020 in Cologne (Germany), Rohde & Schwarz will present EMC test solutions specifically for users in the automotive industry: the fastest CISPR-25 certification, a robust and compact BCI test system, and R&S AdVISE version 5, which keeps a close eye even on vibrating display elements during EMS tests.

The new R&S NGP800 power supply series includes two and four channel models, and further extends the functions and performance available for DC power provided by Rohde & Schwarz.

Rohde & Schwarz and Decawave demonstrate test functions for the new generation of Decawave UWB devices with the new generation of Rohde & Schwarz radio communication tester, the R&S CMP200. With this solution, both companies address manufacturers planning wireless devices using Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to provide secure location-based services.

The R&S CMW platform of Bluetooth^® testers already support the new Bluetooth^® Low Energy (LE) version 5.2 power control test routines. These are the only T&M instruments that measure all specified RF tests up to Bluetooth LE 5.0 via the air interface. This unique solution has already been submitted to the Bluetooth^® SIG for the specification of a new Bluetooth LE test mode.

Gemalto, a Thales company, is using test equipment from T&M specialist Rohde & Schwarz to ensure that Cinterion^® IoT modules operate synchronously across all networks and conditions. This reduces extensive real network drive tests in different countries for manufacturers of IoT (Cat M and NB IoT) solutions, resulting in faster time-to-market.

With 5G becoming reality, the demand for production test solutions for 5G devices is growing. However, high-volume testing in the mmWave frequency range (FR2) brings new challenges. For example, DUTs must be validated in an over-the-air environment. To meet these challenges, Rohde & Schwarz has developed the compact R&S CMPQ, a fully integrated production test solution from a single supplier. The concept is based on a radio communication tester and a shielding solution, providing accurate and reliable measurement results under radiated conditions.

With commercial 5G deployments gathering pace globally, field service teams are facing the challenge of successfully deploying and operating new network infrastructure that has a radically different architecture from previous cellular generations. Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the 5G Site Testing Solution (5G STS) that provides the industry with an integrated package of proven test equipment that combines all the necessary functional, RF and signaling tests for 5G installation and troubleshooting.

Rohde & Schwarz offers a broad range of WLAN signaling test solutions in line with IEEE 802.11ax. Access points and WLAN stations can now be tested in single input single output (SISO) and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) mode as well as in single-user or multi-user (OFDMA) operation, even under fading conditions and during IP data application.

The Global Certification Forum GCF and PTCRB certification organization have accepted first test case validations in various FR1 and LTE band combinations using the new Rohde & Schwarz R&S TS RRM 5G radio resource management (RRM) conformance test system. The solution is the latest addition to a successful family of RRM conformance test systems.

At the leading trade show for the embedded industry in Nuremberg, Rohde & Schwarz will highlight its T&M solutions for embedded designs in the automotive sector and high speed digital interfaces.
