Build your rail systems with Advantech

Rail operators and maintainers, train manufacturers and passengers demand increasing automation and improved services. Advantech responds with a comprehensive range of products to support the train and rail infrastructure. These support rolling stock and station passenger information systems (PIS), in-train and quayside surveillance systems, ticketing, railway signalling, integrated supervisory control systems (ISCS), driver monitors for systems and mirrors and the communication systems for the train backbone network, train-to-ground communications, asset management, surveillance and condition-based monitoring.

Moxa

Moxa Releases 60 W PoE Switches to Power Heavy-duty IP Cameras in Harsh Environments

Moxa has launched the EDS-P506E-4PoE series of PoE switches that can provide up to 60 W per PoE port for converged data and power transmission. The power output was designed for IP cameras that use power-demanding functions such as PTZ, illumination, heaters, and fans in harsh environments. Our EDS-P506E-4PoE switches feature device-level cybersecurity, remote control, and the capability to monitor powered devices to meet the operational requirements for industrial applications such as highways, wayside, and public utilities.

Baumer

Compact 48 megapixel Global Shutter CMOS cameras: The LX series captures even the finest details fast

Now offering the LX series also with CMV50000 CMOS sensor by ams Sensors Belgium (previously CMOSIS), Baumer opens the way to applications placing the highest demands on resolution, frame rates and image quality. The new LX cameras in compact 60 × 60 mm housing, deliver up to 15 fps at the full resolution of 7920 × 6004 pixels. Therefore highly-dynamic processes such as inspection of PCBs, wafers, surfaces and displays as well as track & trace applications can benefit from high-resolution images with reliable detection of even the finest details and the slightest deviation. Where previously several high-resolution cameras were required to fulfill demanding accuracy requirements, now a single 48 megapixel LX camera will suffice. This will reduce system and integration cost and increase system uptime. Series production of the new Dual GigE and Camera Link cameras begins in the fourth quarter of 2017.

More performance for high-speed image processing: QX series with 12 megapixel at 335 fps and 10 GigE interface

With the QX series cameras, Baumer sets new standards for high-speed image processing. With 12 megapixel resolution at 335 fps in Burst Mode, the cameras capture fine details and defects extremely precisely in high-dynamic processes. The 10 GigE interface continuously transfers data with a high bandwidth of 1.1 GB/s. This makes the cameras ideal for applications that require very high frame rates for short sequences. As a result they are suitable, for example, for process analysis in industrial applications, for living cell analysis in medical applications, for scientific research or for motion analysis in sports. A first model, equipped with the CMOS global shutter CMV12000 sensor by ams (CMOSIS), is available in the fourth quarter of 2017.

CAMILLE BAUER

From photovoltaic systems, to battery storage and electromobility: energy efficiency in direct current systems

The trend towards efficient utilization of limited resources has led to the introduction of a host of activities for energy efficiency improvement. For DC systems especially, monitoring their performance and error-free operation is fundamental. Photovoltaic and battery storage systems are particularly relevant here and the focus is also evidently on the power supplies of emerging electromobility solutions.

CAMILLE BAUER

Digitization of the energy sector A new enhancement for energy automation

To address the needs of the energy automation sector and in the context of digitization, Camille Bauer is introducing higher-performance variants of the CENTRAX CU3000 and CU5000. As well as the BASIC version the ADVANCED version is now also available. The CENTRAX is a 2-in-1 device, combining in a single housing a highly precise measurement device for monitoring electrical parameters and the functionality of a programmable logic controller. It supports the CODESYS development environment for developing IEC 61131-3 compliant industrial automation applications.
