CONFIGURABLE SMALL CONTROLLER PNOZMULTI 2 WITH NEW EXPANSION MODULE FOR DRIVE MONITORING - MONITOR AXES SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY

The new motion monitoring module PNOZ m EF 1MM2DO from the configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2 now also offers cascading and delayed shutdown functions in the field of safe motion monitoring. By monitoring up to eight safety functions on one axis, the new motion monitoring module provides efficient drive applications, thereby protecting both capital goods and the machine.

SAFETY LASER SCANNER PSENSCAN FROM PILZ WITH UP TO THREE SEPARATE SAFETY ZONES AND UP TO 70 SWITCHABLE CONFIGURATIONS - MORE FLEXIBLE AND PRODUCTIVE MONITORING OF MOBILE AND STATIONARY APPLICATIONS

Additional digital inputs and outputs are now available for the safety laser scanner PSENscan: Up to 70 switchable configurations can now be implemented and up to three separate safety zones can be monitored simultaneously thanks to the new 17-pin and master encoder types. So stationary areas can be monitored more productively – also using the new partial dynamic muting for example. And new functions for the intralogistics sector – such as encoder evaluation, standby mode and more precise navigation – also provide for more efficient monitoring of mobile applications.

GERMAN INNOVATION AWARD (GIA) CONFIRMS THE INNOVATION LEVEL OF THE WORLD'S FIRST SAFETY RELAY IN BATCH SIZE 1 - MYPNOZ: “WINNER” IN ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGIES!

The Baden-Württemberg-based automation company Pilz has just been announced as winner in the “Electronic Techologies” category for its innovative, customisable safety relay myPNOZ. For the first time, customers can use the Creator to simply “create online” their own individual safety relay in the spirit of Industrie 4.0. The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions that distinguish themselves primarily by their user centricity and added value compared to earlier solutions, across all industrial sectors.

SECURITYBRIDGE FIREWALL FROM PILZ NOW ALSO PROTECTS AUTOMATION NETWORKS THAT INCLUDE DEVICES FROM THIRD-PARTY SUPPLIERS - OPEN FOR MANIPULATION-PROOF COMMUNICATION

The SecurityBridge firewall from Pilz now also guarantees the monitoring of data communication between any other network subscribers outside of the Pilz range. As such there is even greater flexibility to incorporate it into existing industrial automation networks. Thanks to authentication and permission management, the SecurityBridge efficiently protects against potential data manipulation. As a result, the open firewall from Pilz increases plant availability.

PRESS BRAKING MADE SAFE, PRODUCTIVE AND SIMPLE

For years Bystronic has been using the camera-based protection and measurement system PSENvip in conjunction with the automation system PSS4000 to guarantee a safe, efficient bending process. For another solution particularly on shorter length press brakes, the aim was to achieve maximum productivity and maximum safety combined with simple operation.

NEW MODULE FOR BENDING ANGLE MEASUREMENT ON THE CAMERA-BASED PROTECTION SYSTEM PSENVIP 2 FROM PILZ - MAKING BENDING PROCESSES MORE PRODUCTIVE

A new module for bending angle measurement is now available for the camera-based protection system PSENvip 2 from Pilz, which forwards usable image data to the press controller. So the operator sees the bending angle value directly on the user interface (HMI) when press braking, removing the need for expensive angle measurement systems and complex manual measurements. So the time and costs involved in the initial and subsequent adjustment of the system are reduced to a minimum. The bending process can be implemented productively and safely with PSENvip 2, thereby guaranteeing high availability on press brakes.

PSENOPT LIGHT CURTAIN PORTFOLIO FROM PILZ PREVENTS AN UNINTENDED RESTART - MANAGING LOCKOUT EFFICIENTLY AND SAFELY

With PSENopt II lockout, a restart interlock is now available for the PSENopt II light curtain range from Pilz. This prevents the machine from restarting unintentionally, during maintenance work within danger zones for example. There is no need for additional safety sensors, immediately making a visual inspection of the danger point superfluous. So PSENopt II lockout represents not only a safe but also an economical, easy-to-use solution to prevent an unintended restart.

NEW PILZ DRIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SINGLE AND MULTI-AXIS APPLICATIONS - FLEXIBLE, COMBINABLE DRIVE CONTROLLERS

With the new drive controllers PMC SC6 and PMC SI6, Pilz is expanding its portfolio of servo amplifiers to include space-saving, scalable systems for both single and multi-axis applications. Both can be combined flexibly and commissioned quickly. The drive controllers PMC SC6 and PMC SI6 offer high precision, particularly for single or multi-axis applications in the metalworking, packaging or woodworking industry.

SMALL CONTROLLER PNOZMULTI 2: EXPANSIONS IN THE SOFTWARE TOOL PNOZMULTI CONFIGURATOR - NEW BLOCKS FOR EFFICIENT AUTOMATION

New function blocks for simple configuration of safe user programs are available from software version 10.13 of the PNOZmulti Configurator software tool for the configurable small controller PNOZmulti 2. The package includes a new L-muting block for light curtain applications, new logic function blocks for safety gate solutions and for monitoring analogue functions, as well as blocks for more comprehensive coding and/or decoding.
