WITH PROFLEET ASSIST+ GEN 2, POWERED BY MOBILEYE®, KNORR-BREMSE TRUCKSERVICES HAS RECENTLY LAUNCHED THE NEXT GENERATION OF ITS RETROFITTABLE TURNING ASSISTANT ON THE EUROPEAN MARKET

Knorr-Bremse TruckServices, the commercial vehicle aftermarket segment of Knorr-Bremse and Intel company Mobileye have recently launched the next generation of their retrofittable turning assistant, ProFleet Assist+ Gen 2. ProFleet Assist+ Gen 2 employs algorithms that have been optimized with the aid of artificial intelligence – its numerous enhancements offer even greater protection for vulnerable road users. Along with eight other retrofittable turning assistants for commercial vehicles, ProFleet Assist+ Gen 2 was recently tested by the German Automobile Club ADAC and placed in the top three. One key reason for this ranking was the system’s ability to reliably distinguish between vulnerable road users and other objects, minimizing the number of false alerts.

KNORR-BREMSE TO SUPPLY TRAILER AND BUS MANUFACTURER NEFAZ WITH OVER 4,500 TRAILER EBS SYSTEMS

Knorr-Bremse, the world’s leading manufacturer of braking and other systems for rail and commercial vehicles, has been awarded a supply contract by trailer and bus manufacturer NEFAZ, a subsidiary of the KAMAZ Group. The scope of supply includes more than 4,500 trailer EBS systems, NEFAZ’s full requirement for the next three years, underpinning Knorr-Bremse’s market position in the trailer segment in Russia.

Knorr-Bremse completes acquisition of R.H. Sheppard Co., Inc.: The acquisition is a major step towards becoming a leading global manufacturer of steering systems for commercial vehicles

Knorr-Bremse, today announced that the company closed the acquisition of R.H. Sheppard Co., Inc., Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA (“Sheppard”) on June 1, 2020. The contract was signed on January 30, 2020. The purchase price amounts to USD $149.5 million. Sheppard is an industry-leading manufacturer of steering systems for commercial vehicles in the North American market. The acquisition of Sheppard marks another important step in Knorr-Bremse’s strategic drive to become a leading global supplier of commercial vehicle steering systems following its earlier acquisition of the Hitachi steering business in 2019.
