TIM and Comau have signed a technology collaboration agreement with the aim of accelerating the adoption of Internet of Things-based solutions in the manufacturing industry. The two companies will support the digital transformation of manufacturing organizations by exploiting, in their respective areas of excellence, the potential offered by connectivity technologies including 5G, Edge cloud, data analysis, robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

Today at the headquarters of MADE, in Bovisa (Milan), the Competence Center, of which Comau is a partner and founding member, and whose aim is to bring Italian companies closer to Industry 4.0, was presented to the press. Comau has provided the MADE center with its most innovative Smart Factory technological solutions, in addition to its longstanding expertise and global experience in the field of industrial automation. Comau’s objective is to support Italian companies - especially SMEs - in the knowledge, acquisition, and implementation of enabling technologies and advanced processes for smart manufacturing. Within the context of MADE, Comau also participates in a network of excellence, through which it can share increasingly challenging projects aimed at fostering the competitiveness of the Italian entrepreneurial fabric.

Comau unveils MATE-XT, a new version of its wearable exoskeleton that fully accommodates the specific needs of workers in demanding industrial, non-industrial and open-air environments. Featuring a slim, lightweight carbon fiber structure and an intuitive regulation system, the water, dust, UV-light and temperature resistant design can be quickly adjusted to fit virtually any body frame. MATE-XT is also highly breathable, thanks to an enhanced high-performance fabric construction specific for outdoor activities. Moreover, it offers 8 different levels of assistance that can be quickly set – or changed – by the worker without interrupting the task at hand.

Comau will leverage its culture of innovation when collaborating with other key players as part of the MUSKETEER pan-European consortium.

Comau attended the AMTS Powertrain Engineering Summit 2020 in Chongqing, one of the most influential events dedicated to automotive powertrain engineering.

The innovative wearable technology that supports operators at work is on display at the Bologna Construction Fair, from October 14th – 17th.

On September 25, Comau attended the Global Smart Factory Summit in Shanghai. The summit is one of the most important events in smart manufacturing and digitalization with more than 300 OEM digital initiative experts in attendance, and over 20 eminent speakers delivering key-note speeches. Wang Junwu, Comau China's Engineering Director, introduced Comau's digitalization platform in.Grid.

Comau North America's Customer Solution Architect Alessio Bisagni will present "Comau's Way to IoT and AI: Building the Factory of the Future, Now" at the Global Automotive Management Council's (GAMC) virtual event.

The partnership complements Comau’s offer covering the entire production lifecycle from design and validation up to manufacturing systems and aftersales support.
