Having recently opened their new state-of-the-art high-speed digital compliance test laboratory in Germany, Granite River Labs (GRL) has now further extended their scope of industry services for a growing European market. By adding the R&S ZNB20 vector network analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz to complement the previously acquired R&S RTP164 high-performance oscilloscope, the GRL test lab is able to offer an even broader range of testing services around established and future high-speed digital technologies like Automotive Ethernet or USB.
To help EMC engineers meet the increasing demand for higher measurement speeds, at EMV 2022 in Cologne Rohde & Schwarz is introducing a unique wideband solution which is able to measure up to 970 MHz in real time, while keeping a high dynamic range and measurement accuracy. With this new extension, the R&S ESW EMI test receiver features the largest bandwidth in the industry and becomes the fastest EMI test receiver on the market.
Rohde & Schwarz and MediaTek have successfully verified new location based services (LBS) features for 5G NR as defined in 3GPP Release 16. These features will not only improve emergency caller location, but also support upcoming LBS-related use cases in challenging indoor and outdoor environments with both, satellite based and terrestrial technologies. Rohde & Schwarz has extended the R&S TS-LBS test solution to support these and other Release 16 network based positioning features.
At the recent i14y Lab Summit 2022 in Berlin, Rohde & Schwarz has showcased as one of the lab’s partners its proven and powerful measurement instruments used to verify the conformance of O-RAN Radio Units and the end-to-end network performance.
With a new ultra-wideband (UWB) PHY Test Suite for the R&S CMP200 radio communication tester, Rohde & Schwarz now offers a PHY Conformance Test Tool (PCTT) to support conformance testing of the UWB PHY layer as specified by the FiRa Consortium.
Rohde & Schwarz adds new models and options to the R&S ZNB vector network analyzer family, addressing applications in the mmWave range such as 5G at FR2 frequencies and applications in aerospace and defense in the Ka band. The R&S ZNB26 provides network analysis up to 26.5 GHz, and R&S ZNB43 extends the upper frequency of the midrange VNA family to 43.5 GHz.
Rohde & Schwarz has paired the outstanding performance of its established R&S RTP oscilloscope with an enhanced user interface and a larger display. The result is an even more flexible oscilloscope in a compact format with a modern look and feel that continues to deliver high-performance signal integrity in real time.
Rohde & Schwarz has introduced not just one but two new maximum frequencies for the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator, bringing previously impossible high performance to digitally modulated signals up to 67 GHz and beyond. The R&S SMW200A is first to enable flat frequency response and 2 GHz modulation bandwidth above 44 GHz. In addition to all applications already supported up to 44 GHz, the 100 kHz to 56 GHz option covers all currently used 5G frequencies, plus earth-to-satellite applications. The 100 kHz to 67 GHz option also supports planned higher frequency 5G bands, the 60 GHz WiGig band, and inter-satellite links.
The R&S TS-RRM-NR 5G conformance test system from Rohde & Schwarz is the first test platform to achieve test platform approval criteria (TPAC) from the GCF certification organization for 5G radio resource management (RRM) at FR2 frequencies. As a consequence, the first RRM conformance FR2 work items have reached “active” status, making them mandatory for mobile device certification. RRM FR2 test cases with one and two angles of arrival (1xAoA and 2xAoA) have been validated in multiple FR2 EN-DC band combinations.
Error vector magnitude (EVM) is one of the main parameters to characterize the performance of a digital transmitter or receiver. The well-established R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz has been the leading instrument for high-end measurements requiring extreme precision.
