The new Seco Tools Double Quattromill® 14 cutter allows shops with lower horsepower machines to maximize their face milling operations. The face milling cutter uses double sided inserts with 8 cutting edges for cost-effectiveness as well as for increased in depths of cut in roughing, semi finishing and finishing operations. Seco designed the Double Quattromill® 14 as a smaller version of the company’s Double Quattromill® 22, which is ideal for large machines with higher horsepower and torque capabilities.
Seco Tools introduces its new Power Milling Chucks, with levels of holding power and transmittable torque rivalling those of hydraulic and shrinkfit holder types for maximized milling performance. Power Milling Chucks deliver enhanced application flexibility and cost effectiveness while they allow shops to reduce tooling inventories.
Seco Tools, a leading global provider of metal cutting solutions for milling, turning, holemaking and toolholding, recently launched its new global website, www.secotools.com, to guide manufacturers to metal cutting solutions. The new secotools.com helps customers improve productivity and navigate complex metalworking processes with access to robust product and technical information, best-in-the-industry resources and support in one centralised location.
“At Seco, we understand that in today’s competitive marketplace, manufacturers need fast and reliable solutions to their complex metalworking challenges,” said Lars Bergstrom, CEO of Seco Tools. “The new secotools.com makes it easier for our customers to find the products and support they need to increase productivity.”
Seco Tools has expanded its family of Duratomic-technology-based TP grades to include TP3501, a grade that provides optimal application security. The new grade is ideal for steel turning applications that involve heavy interruptions, less stable machines, small internal features or weak setups due to part size or shape.
For manufacturers struggling to manage metalworking chips and optimize tool-life, Seco has introduced new -RR93 and -R3 geometries as part of its RCMx range of turning inserts. Designed for extreme applications such as turning railway wheels, these additions combine new roughing and medium finishing chipbreakers with industry-leading Duratomic® grade technology.
Seco Tools has introduced 13 new full-profile threading inserts for internal UNJ and MJ thread profiles. Now a full range of UNJ and MJ thread profiles is available for both external and internal application. These inserts feature extremely tight-tolerance profiles to generate even higher-precision threads in stainless steels and heat-resistant nickel-based and titanium alloys.
Seco Tools has introduced Jetstream Tooling® high-pressure coolant technology for threading shank holders. The new range includes square shank holders for external applications, boring bars for internal applications and GL-heads for use with Steadyline bars.
Cutting tools are fundamental elements of the metalcutting process. Depending on how the tools are chosen and applied, they offer the potential to maximise machining productivity or, on the other hand, create production bottlenecks. Much depends on how tool use is managed in relation to the overall manufacturing process.
Seco Tools has expanded its popular family of T4-12 helical milling cutters to include five new cutters for economical and versatile roughing and semi-finishing operations. The addition of three metric and two imperial sizes makes Seco’s range of long-reach, replaceable-end tangential helical cutters the industry’s most complete, spanning diameters from 40 mm to 100 mm (2" to 4").
Seco has expanded its industry-leading Jetstream Tooling® solutions with new toolholders, coolant clamps and shank adapters that together optimize turning operations. The ISO turning toolholders feature coolant clamps with Seco’s JETI (Jetstream Integrated) technology, as do the VDI machine-side shank adapters. The JETI technology keeps machines up and running while effectively controlling chips and heat generation.
